Matlock Angling Club Cawdor Ponds

The two ponds in Cawdor Quarry at the Oaker end of the site. Juniors must be accompanied by an adult member at all times whilst fishing this water. Closed during March of each year. This pond is a mixed fishery, it contains double figure Carp, with the average carp weighing around the 6lb mark. There is also a good head of Bream to 4lb with lots of small skimmers and roach, Perch , Tench, Crucians, Gudgeon and lots of Rudd. The pond averages about 4 feet In depth and fishes well all year round. Lots of parking at the pond with a 50 yard walk to the pond. Disabled anglers can park next to the pond but need to contact the club secretary to seek permission. To access the pond you must enter via the first right just above Sainsbury’s Petrol station. Go through the gate and follow the road through the quarry until you reach the pond
